United States

AIG Global Real Estate’s domestic portfolio comprises all major property types.  The U.S. investment teams execute investment strategies based on extensive real estate experience, local market knowledge, and in some markets, established relationships with local operators and developers.  With offices located in New York, San Francisco, Atlanta, Birmingham and Stowe, the teams are responsible for sourcing, underwriting and managing AIG Global Real Estate’s U.S. investments.

Five dedicated investment teams focus on U.S. real estate:

Residential

The U.S. residential team is based in New York.  The team has been investing in multifamily assets in select U.S. submarkets since 1996 and has extensive market knowledge and established relationships with local real estate operators.

Office and Industrial

The U.S. office and industrial team is based in San Francisco.  The team focuses on major, infill markets with barriers to entry, with an emphasis on coastal markets.  The investment strategy emphasizes distribution industrial facilities and niche office sectors.

Retail

AIG Global Real Estate’s retail activity is primarily focused on the development of large, anchored retail centers in the South and Southeast and secondarily on unique development and investment opportunities nationwide.  The majority of retail development is conducted through AIG Baker, a joint venture formed in 1993 between AIG Global Real Estate and Birmingham-based A.B. Shopping Center Properties, Inc.

Smart Growth

Focused on infill, urban development, and redevelopment, the smart growth team operates from San Francisco. Investment activities are focused in major U.S. and Canadian markets and include all property types, with an emphasis on smart growth development and redevelopment principles.

Atlantic Station®

AIG Global Real Estate's Atlantic Station® is an unprecedented 138-acre mixed asset class development in midtown Atlanta.  At completion, the project is slated to include more than 12 million square feet of retail, residential, office and hotel facilities. Atlantic Station has been recognized by The Sierra Club, The U.S. Green Building Council and The U.S. Department of Environmental Protection.
